TRENDY BRAIDED HAIRSTYLES

TRENDY BRAIDED HAIRSTYLES
For 2010, feminine and girly hairstyles are very popular. Those that are inspired by the glam of the 1960s are the perfect looks for the year 2010. Braided hairstyles are some that are going to be very popular this year, and braids are always flattering for any woman. Braided looks aren’t just for the runway; the braid has been around for centuries, and it’s easy to get an awesome look right at home.
Trendy Braids for 2010

If you are attending an event where you need to be casual, yet you want to still look great, consider wearing milkmaid braids. Milkmaid braids are made when you brush your hair out, and braid your bangs, side bangs, and part of your hair one either side. Pull the braids back and secure them behind your head. This is an attractive look that will suit any woman and you can easily dress the braids up with attractive accessories such as flowers or ribbons. If you want, you can braid the rest of your hair down your back, letting the side braids join with that braid to give you a beautiful, clean look.
Braided Bun

A braided bun is perfect for formal occasions. With this style, you simply put your hair into a ponytail, either high up on your head, or about midway up. Braid the ponytail, securing the end with an elastic. Now simply wrap the braid around the base like you would any other bun, and secure with pins. This look is sexy, pretty, and is easy to dress up. You can add flowers, ribbons braided with your hair, or even jeweled pins to give you a glamorous look perfect for any formal or semi-formal affair.
SIDE BRAIDS HAIR
SIDE BRAIDS HAIR 2010
I’ve seen this style a lot; it was made popular by Alicia Keys, who actually braids her own hair. Side-braids hair has tiny braids on the side – usually French braids - while the rest of that hair is left straight, hanging and undecorated. While this style is popular among African-American women, it’s not necessarily confined to them. In fact, I saw the style again just this morning on Boa Kwan, a Korean artist who specializes in hip-hop, techno and dance music.

It was absolutely gorgeous on her, and I paused the video to study the pattern. This hairstyle is unique, because the pattern is what draws the eye, not necessarily the style. Usually it is braided in a zigzag pattern, though it can also be braided in a circle, crossovers and even train tracks – braids that are parallel and co straight down in one direction. The ends are normally decorated with beads, or even curled sometimes. Ultimately though, the rest of the hair remains straight and untouched.
It takes less than ten minutes to get this done, and if you know a friend who can braid your hair (or you can do it yourself) you can get it done for cheap – or free. Most of the time this hairstyle is used when going out to a club or party of some sort. I’ve rarely ever seen it outside of the realm of casual fun, conserved for hanging out with friends, dinner at the local cafe or even going to the movies
SIDE-BRAIDS HAIR
SIDE-BRAIDS HAIR
Are you looking for something a little different to do with your long hair? Then try side-braids hair styles! There are literally dozens of things you can do with side-braids hair styles from elegant wedding hair styles to sassy club styles, or even cute school styles for children. The possibilities are as endless as your imagination, so lets take a little trip into the world of side-braids hair styles.
The most common form of side-braids hair is the dragged side braid. This is the elegant style you see on princesses in story books with two braids of hair flowing along the sides of the head only to merge together in the back to flow elegantly downwards. This form of side-braids hair is very easy to do and does not require any real styling products at all. Just take your clean and brushed hair and set the hair on the sides of your head aside as pony tails. Braid these pony tails, sealing the braid off with an extra hair band where you want the braids to end, then wrap them around your head to the back of your head. From there simply pin the braids together and add an accent such as a bow and your side-braids hair is ready! Try adding a messy bun made with the hair on the back of your head for a high class style that is sure to please.

Another side-braids hair style that is gaining in popularity is the side braid. This one is literally a braid of hair that goes down the side of your head, pulling your hair into a cute little style that won’t get in your way. This one is a little harder to make, but not too difficult. Split your hair into two uneven pony tails with the side you want the braid to be on having the least hair of the two. Then braid the two pony tails together as close to the side of your head as you can, adding bobby pins as needed. Sweep the remaining hair under the braid and hold it in place with bobby pins and a little hair spray, add a cute little hair clip to accent your braid, and you are done! If you have a bit of extra hair near your temples hanging loose a spit curl or two is absolutely adorable with this style.
These are just two of the many side-braids hair styles that you can do. Once you get good at these hairstyles give some of the more difficult ones a whirl and before you know it you will be a side-braids hair expert!
