With all of the many treatments and products we use on our hair, it can be easy to forget that in order for our hair to be beautiful and healthy, we have to take good care of it constantly. Coloring, perming, shampooing, straightening, curling, heating, oil treatments – all of these and more can cause some serious damage to hair. Luckily, there are a few things you can do to help keep your hair at its healthiest.

Eat a healthy diet. We know, cliché cliché, but in reality a healthy diet leads to healthy hair follicles, which in turn create healthy, shiny hair. Drinking plenty of water as well as fruits and vegetables that are loaded with healthy-hair vitamins and minerals can do wonders for your damaged ‘do. Another thing you can do to keep your hair looking and feeling as healthy as possible is to have it cut and styled consistently, even if it’s just a trim. This keeps the hair growing and resists split ends. Finally, washing your hair in a manner that is consistent with your hair type can be extremely useful. Frizzy or dry scalps only need shampooing (while still wetting and conditioning) ever so often, while oily hair can need daily shampooing and treatment. Find what helps your hair look its best and go with that.
By using these few tips and doing what is best for your hair, you can go from looking like a tangle, frizzy mess to beautiful, shiny hair that looks healthy and feels amazing to the touch. By treating your hair like it’s important, it will in turn cooperate with you in your everyday life.
